This is a reminder of the upcoming deadline regarding the Windows 10 operating system.
Windows 10 will reach its official end of support (EoS) on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
After this date, devices running Windows 10 will no longer receive monthly quality updates, non-security updates, or free security patches.
What This Means for You
Continuing to use an operating system without security updates increases the risk of getting malware, viruses, and other cyberattacks. To maintain security, all devices currently running Windows 10 must be transitioned to Windows 11 before the EoS date.
Your Next Steps: Transitioning to Windows 11
Windows 11 offers enhanced features that will keep your computers secure. We urge you to take the following immediate actions:
- Check Device Eligibility: Contact your IT support to see if your current Windows 10 device is eligible to be upgraded to Windows 11.
- Plan Your Timeline: If your device is eligible, plan the upgrade process immediately. If your device is not eligible, you will need to plan for a replacement device that meets the Windows 11 minimum hardware requirements.
- Contact DVI: Contact us at DVI if you have further questions or need advice on going forward with the transition.
Extended Security Update (ESU) Option
For devices that cannot be upgraded or replaced, Microsoft offers a paid Extended Security Update (ESU) program. This is a temporary, paid option that provides security updates for up to three years only and should be considered strictly as a short-term solution. The cost of ESU used in a business environment is $61 per device for 1 year with the cost doubling every year afterwards. Details on ESU are available HERE.

Thank you for your cooperation.
